INTRODUCTION:

WHAT? “You shall call HIS Name JESUS…”

“Jesus” is from the Greek “Iesous” and it is a transliteration of the Hebrew Yesoshua (same as Joshua) and means “Yahweh saves” or “Yahweh is salvation.”

WHY? “For HE shall save HIS people from their sins…”

Why did the Angel command both Jospeh and Mary to name HIM “Yahweh saves?”

Because HE is YAHWEH and HE saves!
