This past week I was working on a sermon for February 4^th on the subject of Angels. My basic outline for the sermon is answering a series of questions about these beings. One of the common questions that I have been asked over the years is, “Do Christians have a guardian Angel?”

As I pondered this question and the verses which are usually cited with it, it occurred to me that while I am not completely persuaded either way on this, one thing about which I am absolutely certain is that all Christians have a Guardian GOD!

GOD, HIMSELF, tells us in Hebrews 13:5, “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

And JESUS said in John 10:27-29, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.”

GOD tells us that HE will never forsake us, and no person can snatch us out of HIS hand! GOD may well use Angels to keep HIS promise of protection for HIS people. HE may, in fact, use any means that HE wills!

While we must be thankful for these amazing beings that GOD has created, our faith, trust, and hope is not in the ministry of Angels, but in the promises of GOD!
