A Word from THE WORD
Good Morning Happy Church,
Today is Friday, February 19th, 2016. Today is the 50th Day of 2016.
There are only 316 days left in this year; and, there are only 51 Days Left until Our Spring Revival Begins!
We will begin the Revival Meetings on Saturday, April 9th with a Banquet and Sermon at 6pm.
Sunday, April 10th, we will hear Bro Bobby at 10am and again at 6pm.
Monday and Tuesday, April 11th and 12, we will hear Bro Bobby at 7pm each night!
Please clear your schedule to attend as many of these meetings as possible.
As I often say, “The two things you have to invest to be blessed are your Attendance and your Attention!”
Please be in prayer for Dr. Bobby and Sandra Boyles as they travel here and back.
Pray that God will pour out HIS SPIRIT on us as never before!
Pray for the salvation of the lost; repentance and renewal in the life of God’s people; new people to become part of our Church Family; the calling out of ministers and missionaries; a spiritual awakening in our area; and, for Jesus Christ to be glorified in all that we do!
Matthew 6:7-13
7 “And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.
8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
THE Hardest Thing about Revival
The third request in the model prayer of Jesus is HIS simple request, “YOUR will be done…”
Boom!
If you had a lot of time to spend listening to me, I could tell you exactly what “my” will is about our Church; and me, and my family, and my Country, and my….”
OK, I’ll stop.
I am sure that if I had lots of time, you could do exactly the same thing about “your” will.
Humans are like that.
All of us.
If we knew that our upcoming revival meetings would produce the changes we would like to see, we would be ready to start now! Each of us likely have a vision of what things would look like if our Church was a perfect Church.
I have often heard that there are no perfect Churches and that is a good thing; because if a Church were perfect I could not go there. If I started going there, it would no longer be perfect.
More than selfishness and more than control; our vision for the future of our Church is based on what we think would be best for us and for our community.
But, we must remember that we are fallen and we simply do not know what God knows about what is best for us and for them.
God has a will for us. HE will bring it to pass. Our highest aspiration is to be used by the LORD to accomplish HIS will. The issue is… can we pray with Jesus, “YOUR will be done?”
Facing the cross in Gethsemane, Jesus again prayed, “Not as I will, but as YOU will…” (Matthew 26:39)
As we pray for revival both publicly and privately, let us pray like that! Amen.
Revival CAN happen, it really CAN happen!
Will we really have revival?
We will soon see!
Carpe Diem!
