A Word from THE WORD
Good Morning Happy Church,
Today is Saturday, February 13th, 2016. Today is the 44th Day of 2016.
There are only 322 days left in this year; and, there are only 57 Days Left until Our Spring Revival Begins!
We will begin the Revival Meetings on Saturday, April 9th with a Banquet and Sermon at 6pm.
Sunday, April 10th, we will hear Bro Bobby at 10am and again at 6pm.
Monday and Tuesday, April 11th and 12, we will hear Bro Bobby at 7pm each night!
Please clear your schedule to attend as many of these meetings as possible.
As I often say, “The two things you have to invest to be blessed is your Attendance and your Attention!”
Please be in prayer for Dr. Bobby and Sandra Boyles as they travel here and back.
Pray that God will pour out HIS SPIRIT on us as never before!
Pray for the salvation of the lost; repentance and renewal in the life of God’s people; new people to become part of our Church Family; the calling out of ministers and missionaries; a spiritual awakening in our area; and, for Jesus Christ to be glorified in all that we do!
Psalm 80:3-7
3 “Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved!
4 O LORD God of hosts, how long will you be angry with your people’s prayers?
5 You have fed them with the bread of tears and given them tears to drink in full measure.
6 You make us an object of contention for our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves.
7 Restore us, O God of hosts; let your face shine, that we may be saved!”
I know that it has gone on forever, but especially over the past few years I continually hear about “restoration.”
“American Pickers” and “American Restoration” have brought this to the forefront of the current batch of “reality” shows.
More than that, home restoration and “House Flipper” shows have become among the most popular on television.
One of my favorite things on earth is to look at restored cars from the 1950’s and 1960’s.
I really love seeing the furniture that Misty and Sam (and others) are doing. I purchased a buffet and mirror that Misty had restored and repainted and I absolutely love them!
Maybe this is just a fad like so many things become, but I think this is an idea whose time has come.
“Restore” is a metaphor we all understand.
In Psalm 80, Asaph pictures the people of God as a “lilly” among the thorns of the world. In many ways, this is certainly true of HIS people today.
The psalmist sees the problem they face. They are no longer “light” in the darkness, or “salt” in a saltless world; they are not what they once were – they are not what God has called them to be.
This is certainly the overall reality of the people of God today. Asaph knows that God is displeased. He states that God is even angry with their prayers!
His cry is for restoration. God’s people need to be restored in their relationship with God.
Don’t miss the simple fact that being restored makes the subject of that restoration both “beautiful” and “useful” again.
That is what we must desire! We want to be “beautiful” and “useful” in the eyes of our LORD.
Always!
We can be, but, from time to time in our life this will require a time of restoration.
This is one of the purposes and the promises of revival.
I would love to be more “beautiful” and more “useful” to God than I have ever been before!
Revival CAN happen, it really CAN happen!
Will we really have revival?
We will soon see!
Carpe Diem!
