A Word from THE WORD
Good Morning Happy Church,
Today is Friday, February 12th, 2016. Today is the 43rd Day of 2016.
There are only 323 days left in this year; and, there are only 58 Days Left until Our Spring Revival Begins!
We will begin the Revival Meetings on Saturday, April 9th with a Banquet and Sermon at 6pm.
Sunday, April 10th, we will hear Bro Bobby at 10am and again at 6pm.
Monday and Tuesday, April 11th and 12, we will hear Bro Bobby at 7pm each night!
Please clear your schedule to attend as many of these meetings as possible. As I often say, “The two things you have to invest to be blessed is your Attendance and your Attention!”
Please be in prayer for Dr. Bobby and Sandra Boyles as they travel here and back.
Pray that God will pour out HIS SPIRIT on us as never before!
Pray for the salvation of the lost; repentance and renewal in the life of God’s people; new people to become part of our Church Family; the calling out of ministers and missionaries; a spiritual awakening in our area; and, for Jesus Christ to be glorified in all that we do!
Ephesians 4:22-24
22 “to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires,
23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”
For several days, I have been posting daily devotions about our upcoming revival meetings and how the LORD can use this time in our lives to bring about real and much-needed change!
By the way, save yourself some time, if you do not need to be changed from who you are and what your life is you do not need revival.
I certainly need revival and I think many others do as well.
Paul is pointing out to the Ephesians how easy it is for those who are “New Creations” to behave like their old self. It is really easy to fall back.
Before we knew Jesus, we lived a certain way. Now that we do know the LORD, God is in the process of changing us; but, old habits and lifestyles are hard to overcome.
Boy, do I know that for sure!
So, how does this change come about? Paul tells them to, “be renewed in the spirit of your minds.”
Simple. We need to change our minds.
Simple.
You don’t think you need revival. You need to change your mind about that.
You don’t think being renewed is worth giving up four evenings for. You need to change your mind about that.
You don’t think being what God desires you to be is worth the sacrifices it takes to be transformed by God’s Word and HIS Spirit. You need to change your mind about that.
“Putting off the old man” and “putting on the new man” are clear metaphors for spiritual growth.
How?
Simple.
Change your mind.
Revival CAN happen, it really CAN happen!
Will we really have revival?
We will soon see!
Carpe Diem!
