Acts 2:42-47
42 “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
Last week, we looked at several Scriptures that describe HOW God provides for HIS people. This coming Lord’s Day, as the Lord allows, we will look at several passages that explain HOW HE provides for HIS Church and HIS Kingdom work!
I will try to do this by answering a few key questions…
First, according to Matthew 16:13-19 God provides for HIS Kingdom work by gathering HIS people into Local __________________!
Second, according to Malachi 3:10 and 1st Corinthians 12:4-7, God provides for HIS Kingdom work by the _________________ of HIS people and by giving them Spiritual ______________ to carry out the work of the Church’s various ministries!
Third, God provides for HIS Church and HIS Kingdom work by commanding HIS people to do three specific things in relation to their Local Church:
(1) According to Hebrews 10:24-25, God’s people are commanded to _______________ their Local Church!
(2) According to 2nd Peter 2:1-3 and Jude 3-4, God’s people are commanded to _______________ their Local Church!
(3) According to Acts 2:42-47, God’s people are commanded to ___________________ their Local Church!
Of course, since this is biblical, it is a failure-proof way for God to provide for HIS Church and Kingdom Work; except for the fact that, HE has chosen to put this work into the hands of HIS people who often fail to keep HIS commandments!
God has graciously given us a blueprint for Local Churches to do HIS Kingdom work and to carry out HIS will in the world.
Whether or not we obey is up to each of us individually!
I hope you will read over and think through these verses, see if you figure out a logical answer for each blank, and thereby prepare your mind to hear the Word of God this coming Sunday…
I hope to see you Sunday with your Bible in your hand, a smile on your face, and your family and friends by your side!
