Mark 10:6-8 “But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh.”

First things first!

There are literally dozens of reasons why I and millions of other bible-believers are convinced that God created everything that exists exactly as described in The First Chapter of Genesis; but, the single most important reason that I believe this is that Jesus Christ believed it!

As I get ready to dive into The First Eleven Chapters of Genesis over the next several months, we are going to be dealing with lots of issues that have become very controversial in our Nation; indeed, in the World. I do not think that it will surprise you to learn that my worldview is simply a biblical one.

Rule #1: The Word of God is true!

Rule #2: There are no exceptions to Rule #1!

As our time allows, I am going to point out for you how clearly the Bible reveals that Jesus Christ believed that Genesis, and in fact, all of the Old Testament is absolutely true. I don’t know how far along we will get in this first sermon, but I have seven specific things prepared about which to speak to you on Sunday.

First, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, believed that Genesis was inspired of God; and therefore, completely true!

Second, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, believed that Adam and Eve were real people whom God had created!

Third, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, believed that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were real people!

Fourth, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, believed that Sodom and Gomorrah were real places inhabited by real people whom God had destroyed!

Fifth, Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God, claimed that Moses, (the human author of Genesis) wrote about HIM!

Sixth, The New Testament has 60 quotes or allusions from Genesis 1-11, and 103 from The Book of Genesis!

Seventh, Since the Lord Jesus Christ believed that Genesis is inspired of God; and, He believed that Adam and Eve were real people that God created; and, He believed that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob were real people; and, He believed that Sodom and Gomorrah were real places that God destroyed; and, He believed that Moses actually wrote about Him; THEN, FOR US – OR ANYONE ELSE – TO CLAIM THAT JESUS CHRIST IS EITHER MISTAKEN OR LYING ABOUT THESE FIVE THINGS; AND, TO BELIEVE THIS GODLESS, IGNORANT, ANTI-SCIENTIFIC DOCTRINE OF MATERIALISTIC HUMANISM AND DARWINISTIC EVOLUTION IS NOTHING LESS THAN BLASPHEMY!

These things may take one, or two weeks to work through; but, I believe this basic Christian concept is so vitally important that I hope to take the necessary time to work through them.

REMEMBER: As the LORD allows, this Sunday at 6pm, I will begin a “Survey of The Book of Hebrews.” It certainly will not be done at the same depth of study as I will do in Genesis 1 – 11; but, I will get deep enough that I believe you will learn lots and remain very interested in this amazing New Testament Book!
