The Facts:
1: Christmas Sunday and Easter Sunday are the most highly attended church services of the year in America.
2: More people who do not normally attend church will attend a church service on these two Sundays than any other service of the year.
3: A much higher percentage of people whom you invite to church with you will actually attend one of these services than on any other Sunday in the year.
4: THEREFORE, It is vitally important that you invite as many of your family members and friends as possible to our services this coming Sunday!
Luke 2:6-11 (ESV)
(6) “And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. (7) And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. (8) And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. (9) And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. (10) And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy that will be for all the people. (11) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
Of course I realize that if you ask 100 people out in a public place what is the meaning of Christmas, you will get many different answers. Even among Christians, some opinions will vary.
But, the right answer to that question is a simple one: God loves sinners, so HE sent us a Savior!
That is the bottom line! We are sinners, so God sent us a Savior. Jesus of Nazareth, God’s One and Only Son, came to this earth to be a Savior for sinners.
Jesus, the God-Man; God in human flesh!
This Sunday, as the Lord allows, this will be the subject of my 2012 Christmas Sermon. I am praying that the Lord will bless our people who are able to be here and that HE will draw lots of our family and friends to be here with us. I hope that you will ask your family and friends to come this week and sit with you.
I hope to see you Sunday with your Bible in your hand, a smile on your face, and your family and friends by your side!
